Pros

incredible motion isolation – Even if you sleep with a very restless partner, this DreamCloud mattress should do an excellent job of keeping the motion they create isolated to their side of the bed.

excellent edge support – The coils come with “extra edge support, ” providing superior edge support that lets you utilize the whole bed.

Top-notch bounce – You should have little concern about getting stuck in this mattress since the bounce is fantastic.

Cons

high price tag – Although we think this hybrid is a great value , we is understand understand that its cost may put it out of some people ’s budget .

Not as cooling – Although it uses gel-infused memory foam and has coils that allow for airflow, this bed wasn’t as cooling as I would have liked, considering the cooling materials within it.

Who I Recommend the DreamCloud For:

• Back sleeper – I is been have never been a back sleeper , but this bed could quickly turn me into one . I like it so much that after testing was complete , I is lounged lounge around on it to type up my note for this review .

As part of my testing for the DreamCloud Original Hybrid, I used devices such as a temperature gun to test its cooling capabilities and a pressure map to see how well it relieved pressure, among others. I also tried the mattress in different sleeping positions. I then used my findings to rate the DreamCloud in these performance categories.

firmness & Feel

firmness Scale: 7.5/10

The top of the DreamCloud Hybrid is soft and welcoming, but underneath that layer, the bed has a sturdy, firm feel. I gave it a 7.5 out of 10 on our firmness scale. The firmness level may vary depending on your body weight, but I think most sleepers will agree that this mattress has a truly firm feel. 

How Does the DreamCloud Mattress Feel ?

The cover of this bed is made from a cashmere blend that made me jump for joy when I first lay on it. This material is also breathable, but it didn’t feel cool to the touch. Although the top is plush, the bed’s firm core is the real shining star; it almost immediately started melting tension from my lower back.

Stomach Sleepers

Heavyweight Sleepers	More than 230 pound	Stomach sleeping was not a good fit for our heavyweight tester. Much like when he tested it on his side, he felt this bed needed more pressure relief for people with his body type.

I used a pressure map to gauge how much pressure builds up around certain areas of my body when lying on the DreamCloud. For reference, the map shows more pressure in yellow and red, and little to no pressure in blues and greens. 

I was not surprised by the colors of the image of me on my back. This reading had no red or yellow; my on-mattress findings matched this perfectly. The DreamCloud is one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever been on for back sleepers. When I flipped to my side, I expected more colors indicating high pressure but was pleasantly surprised by the map’s findings and how much I liked this bed in this position. 

As an average – weight person , I would have give this bed a perfect score , but I do n’t think it will perform as well in this category for those light or heavy than me , so I is deducted deduct half a point .

Is the DreamCloud Mattress Good is Is for Pain Relief ?

When it comes to relieving pain, I think the DreamCloud could do an excellent job for sleepers like me who weigh between 130 and 230 pounds. However, I am less bullish on how it will relieve pain for lightweight and heavyweight sleepers.

Back Pain	If you have back pain , I is recommend would recommend fast – track this mattress . As someone with exercise – induce back pain , I is appreciate greatly appreciate how this bed melt the pain in my low back away . read more about mattress for back pain here .
Hip Pain	Although the pressure maps showed little pressure buildup around my hips, the firmness of this bed makes me hesitant to recommend it for those with hip pain. Read more about mattresses for hip pain here.
Shoulder Pain	I have similar feelings about shoulder pain as I do about hip pain. I don’t think the DreamCloud offers enough contouring to make it a prime choice for those with shoulder pain.  Explore more mattresses for shoulder pain here.

The combination of foam layers and individually wrapped coils provides the DreamCloud with exemplary support for many sleepers, but it gets a giant gold star when it comes to sleeping on your back. Thanks to the soft form and sturdy coils, I was blown away by how well my spine was aligned and how quickly the tension and soreness in my lower back were spirited away.

Although I didn’t find the overall feel as nice when I was on my side, it still provided top-notch support and spinal alignment in this position. I noticed a slight dip around my hips when I was on my stomach. This wasn’t problematic during testing, but I fear it may become so after sleeping on this mattress for long stretches. 

overall, the DreamCloud has excellent support, but I deducted half a point due to how it felt on my side and how my hips dipped when I was on my stomach.

If you sleep with a restless partner or pet, you know how annoying it can be when their tossing and turning makes you feel like you’re on the losing end of a WWE Smackdown match. However, with the DreamCloud, your spouse could fly off the top rope and splash into bed without disturbing you. 

The seismograph app backed up my feelings on this. When I placed my phone, which was running the app, on one side of the bed and then got in and rolled around on the other, it registered an almost flat line, even when I applied a lot of pressure and got close to the phone. It was a well-earned 5 out of 5 for me on this one.

With a breathable cover and a gel-infused memory foam layer at the top of this bed, I expected this bed to have a cooler feel. Although it wasn’t warm to the touch, I didn’t experience a comfortable chill on my hand or body.

My initial feelings were solidified when I performed the temperature gun test. This test involves taking three readings: the first one is the surface temperature of the mattress, the second reading is after I’ve been on the bed for five minutes, and the final one comes after I’ve spent an additional five minutes on the bed. The temperature went up a little more than 10 degrees, and because of this increase. I gave the DreamCloud a 4 out of 5 for cooling.

If you’re a nocturnal mover and shaker, you’ll want a bed that makes repositioning easy. The DreamCloud Hybrid’s construction of 8-inch coils made moving around a breeze. My evaluations were shored up when I dropped a 10-pound medicine ball on the mattress, which quickly regained its original shape.

I think that this bed will make an excellent choice for sexually active couples and seniors with mobility issues because they won’t have to worry about feeling stuck in the DreamCloud.

Edge support benefits couples who like to use the entire surface of their bed or folks with mobility issues who need that extra support to help them get in and out of bed. DreamCloud states that this hybrid mattress has extra edge support, and I found that this claim held up when I tested it. 

My first edge support test was sitting on the edge and bending over as I would when tying my shoes for a minute. I noticed a little bit of sinkage during this test, but I still felt secure in this position. I also lay along the edge for a minute, and I had no concerns about falling off the bed. 

I deducted a half point because of the slight sinkage while seated. Even though I didn’t notice much, plus-size sleepers may experience more dipping, taking this score from a 5 to a 4.5.

Many mattresses are available to consumers, and manufacturers often offer extras to help their products stand out, which is what this category is all about. 

The DreamCloud comes with sturdy, comfortable handles that make moving much easier, which is handy given its size and weight. I was also impressed that DreamCloud’s website has a “Compare” page where you can see how your DreamCloud stacks up to many of its competitors. The only reason that DreamCloud didn’t get a perfect score in this category is because of the weight of the mattress and how bulky it is when you have to move it. 

The DreamCloud website is extensive and provides a lot of pertinent information. Although it is easy to navigate, the amount of scrolling to get to the bottom was a turn-off for me. I would rather have easy-to-navigate dropdown boxes than wading through a ton of information to find what I am looking for. I appreciated how quickly customer service representatives responded via live chat, phone, and email. 

While I liked that humans man the live chats and not bots, I was turned off when I asked a simple question and was asked to add the product to my cart before they would answer. I was mostly impressed with the customer service, but I deducted a point due to a couple of hiccups. 

Performance for Couples

The DreamCloud should be a great fit for many couples. It has top-notch motion isolation, allowing you to sleep peacefully even if you share a bed with a restless partner. It also earned top scores in categories such as cooling, edge support, and bounce, which benefit those who sleep beside someone. The only reason that this bed didn’t earn a perfect score for couples is that it is too firm, making it less versatile than beds in the medium-firm range.

Construction: What’s Inside the DreamCloud Mattress?

This 12-inch mattress features a luxurious cover and layers that promote comfort, cooling, and breathability. The cover has durable stitching and a cloud pattern that I think added to the bed’s luxurious feel.

• Below the cover is a layer of soft foam stitched into the cover. This makes the mattress plush right at the start of the construction.
• Going deeper, the second layer is made of memory foam with gel infusions that help cool the entire mattress. This layer contours the curves and provides pressure relief for the hips, shoulders, and neck.
• Next is the dynamic transition layer that consists of standard foam. This foam helps ease the transition to the coil unit underneath, serving as the first support layer under the softer foams.
• The main support layer is made from steel coils that are individually wrapped for better motion isolation. I think the coils support the body in different positions while also promoting airflow for a cooler sleep environment.
• Next is the stability layer made from a standard foam, acting as the main support for all the layers above.
• The base is a shift-resistant lower cover that helps prevent the bed from sliding on the foundation. The cover has four handles to help you move the mattress around. This is a nice touch as I found it makes it easy to move the mattress.

The DreamCloud is compressed , roll , and pack into a box for easy shipping and handling .  

When it comes to off-gassing, it’s important to allow your mattress time to vent in a well-ventilated room. The mattress takes about 72 hours to decompress, and the new mattress smell should be gone by then as well. Off-gassing is common in mattresses that come in a box, and DreamCloud is no exception.

When I took multiple temperature gun readings, it increased to around 10 degrees. This rise in temperature gave me pause in calling this a cooling mattress.

My Verdict of the DreamCloud Mattress

The DreamCloud walked right to the edge of perfection but then scooted back just a smidge. This is one of the best mattresses I have ever tested, and if everyone had my body type and preferred sleep positions, it would be as close to perfect as a bed. However, since that is not the case, I have to consider the few misses to give a more balanced overview of the DreamCloud. 

It may be too firm for some lightweight sleepers while not providing heavyweight stomach sleepers enough support. Also, although it has cooling elements, it didn’t provide this bed with a crisp, chilled feeling. However, I am a huge fan of this bed’s motion isolation, bounce, and support, and it still earned an impressive overall score of 4.5 out of 5.
