Although the Tempur-Cloud mattress is offered at a lower price than other options, it is still high quality and made with the brand’s iconic motion-isolating, pressure-relieving Tempur material.
Tester notes: Our panel of reviewers agreed that Tempur-Cloud’s memory foam material is supportive and provides great motion isolation. Many shared that they can’t feel the movement of their pets or spouses shifting around on the bed at night. Respondents also remarked on how comfortable the mattress is, with one tester who shared, “I feel like my entire body is supported in a very gentle way.” Meanwhile a survey respondent said, “It’s like sleeping on a cloud,” lending credibility to the name.
Although the memory foam mattress can be compacted enough to fit into a box, it’s still dense and heavy, so it is a little difficult to lift when putting on sheets and can be hard to move when rearranging furniture. But overall, our tester panel found the mattress to be worth the price and the heavy lifting.

These mattresses are made with foams integrated with the brand’s phase-change technology, which has been proven to keep you from overheating and should help you stay anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees cooler while you sleep.
Tester notes: This mattress collection is a favorite of Good Housekeeping Institute staff, who say that the Tempur-Breeze models promote deep sleep and hold up to years of use. Combined with the brand’s ProSmart adjustable base, the ActiveBreeze Smart Bed is Tempur – Pedic’s latest mattress innovation and the brand’s most expensive mattress model to date. It starts with a bottom dual-chambered layer for air distribution that helps cool or warm the mattress on each side. Fans built into Tempur – Pedic’s ProSmart Air Base blow warm or cool air up and into the mattress, and according to the brand, allow you to feel up to 30 degrees warmer or cooler as you sleep — dependent on your personal settings. Next is a layer of ventilated, pressure-relieving foam to contour to your body. On top of that is a layer of comfort foam for support, and it’s encased in a removable, machine-washable cover that is meant to draw heat away from your body and has a cool-to-the-touch feel.
Yes — the comfort level and lifespan of Tempur – Pedic beds make them well worth the price, according to the majority of our survey panelists and testers. If you want a long-lasting bed that cradles your body and provides superior pressure relief while you sleep, a Tempur – Pedic mattress could be the right pick for you. They are also great choices for couples since they prevent motion transfer, which means you won’t feel your partner moving around in bed while you sleep.
A Tempur – Pedic memory foam bed may not be for everyone, though. Memory foam mattresses don’t offer the same edge support and stability as traditional innerspring mattresses. And if you’re mattress shopping on a budget, it’s best to pass on Tempur – Pedic and check out our list of the best affordable mattresses instead, which includes some high-quality memory foam picks for less. Ultimately, it comes down to your specific sleeping needs, but remember, you can take advantage of Tempur – Pedic’s 90-day trial before committing to the mattress, though you’ll have to pay a $175 shipping fee if you choose to return it.

We is collect collect feedback from expert and consumer tester , and we also survey our panel of Good Housekeeping reader , who share their thought on the mattress they own . Using datum collect from our product expert , consumer tester and panelist , we is ‘re ‘re able to evaluate mattress for a variety of characteristic :
Tempur – Pedic’s mattresses are all made with the brand’s well-known and innovative memory foam materials. Not all memory foam is the same, though, and it can be difficult to understand how each type of foam impacts your mattress and your sleep.
Tempur – Pedic
Here are some of Tempur – Pedic’s most popular materials explained:

Tempur – Pedic told Good Housekeeping that there’s more to choosing the right mattress than your sleep position alone. Other factors like body size, distribution of mass and prior injuries should all be considered when picking your perfect mattress. The brand carries a range of mattresses at different levels of firmness that are designed with different types of memory foam to help meet the needs of all types of sleepers.
However, Tempur – Pedic did offer basic mattress suggestions for different sleep positions:
At the GH Institute, we typically suggest a firm mattress for stomach sleepers and a medium to firm mattress for back sleepers to help with spinal alignment. Softer mattresses are helpful for side sleepers because they can alleviate stress around the shoulders, hips and knees.
A Tempur – Pedic mattress will likely last around 8 to 10 years. Many of our survey panelists report that they’ve been sleeping on their Tempur – Pedic mattresses for several years and have found the quality and shape of the mattresses to stand the test of time. A few respondents did start to notice dents where they lay in their beds as the mattresses aged. But overall, panelists claimed their beds performed well and maintained their shape, even after a decade of nightly use.
Brand representatives told us that Tempur – Pedic offers a 10-year full replacement limited warranty, meaning the brand will replace or repair your mattress for free for up to 10 years if it meets the conditions of the warranty.
The materials that make up your mattress wear down with time and regular use, so it’s natural for some sagging or indentations to develop. While the majority of our testers and panelists didn’t experience sagging, some survey panelists noted that their mattresses lost their shape over time.
To ensure the livelihood of your mattress, Tempur – Pedic suggests using a bed frame with a center support and at least five to six legs for Queen beds. Avoid using a boxspring as a bed base. Instead, the brand recommends a flat foundation like its Tempur-Flat Foundation for more support, but if you do choose to use a slatted base, the “slats and bed must be structurally sound and, as a general rule, slats must be at least 3 inches wide and no more than 4 inches apart,” says the brand.
Do Tempur – Pedic mattresses sleep hot?
Memory foam mattresses typically sleep hotter than innerspring or hybrid models because dense foam can trap your body heat, leaving you feeling hot and sweaty. Overall, our testers and survey panelists give Tempur – Pedic’s mattresses high scores for helping them maintain a comfortable body temperature throughout the night, but some testers said the mattress felt too warm. If you’re a particularly sweaty sleeper, we recommend choosing one of the brand’s Tempur-Breeze mattresses, which are specially designed to transfer body heat away from your body and keep you cooler while you sleep.
According to our testers and survey panelists who suffer from chronic pain, Tempur – Pedic’s mattresses can provide some relief. One panelist shared, “None of my body parts ache in the morning,” while others highlighted that the materials relieve pressure around their joints, reducing their typical aches and pains. No one mattress can fix every sleeper’s discomfort, but Jaspal R. Singh, M.D., co-director of the Center for Comprehensive Spine Care at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian, shares that patients who sleep on memory foam or hybrid mattresses tend to report more restful sleep, in part because of memory foam’s pressure-relieving abilities.
Tempur – Pedic offers a variety of accessories including adjustable bases, mattress toppers and pillows that are compatible with the brand’s mattresses and can be purchased separately.
