UD IT Security prohibits Hola VPN from University owned machines and strongly recommends that Hola VPN be uninstalled from personal devices because the software:

  • Monitors search queries, browsing history, geolocation, and keyboard and mouse inputs.
  • Indiscriminately shares information with third parties.
  • Allows anonymous users to browse the web through your internet connection—malicious activity will appear to be coming from your computer.

 

follow these step   to remove Hola VPN from your browser  AND your device.

 

1. remove Hola VPN from your web browser:

Browser Steps

Chrome
  1. open the chrome web browser , andright – click the Hola VPN icon.
  1. Click remove from Chrome, and click remove when prompted.

Firefox
  1. In Firefox, click the hamburger menu and selectAdd-ons.
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. find  Hola VPN Better Internet in the list. Then, to the right, click the three dots  and choose  remove.

Safari

Remove Hola VPN
  1. From the Safari menu, click Preferences.
  2. On the toolbar, click Extensions.
  3. Select Hola VPN and choose uninstall.
