Owned and operated by serial entrepreneur and acclaimed restaurantuer, Anna Tam (please see our spotlight feature on her other delightful property, Ten Second Yunnan Rice Noodle), Cloud Nine Cafe has cemented its status as the premiere destination for early morning breakfast specials and artfully prepared light lunch fare as well as truly unique sweet treats that you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere. The Cloud Nine Specialty that you absolutely must try during your visit is the Japanese style soufflé pancakes, which combine the traditional ingredients of an American Pancake with a baking method of whipping egg whites until stiff and then folding them into a batter. The result is a light and airy batter that rises while cooking, creating a unique texture, which is often compared by Cloud Nine patrons as “pillowy clouds in the mouth.” Assortment of flavors are offered and prepared before your eyes in real time, but the most popular are brown sugar with boba, mango cream with pineapple, and strawberry cream with fresh strawberries .
The atmosphere, intimate and undeniably cheerful, features an assortment of Cloud Nine Cafe merchandise (including custom, eco friendly tote bags) and is shrouded with artwork by tremendously talented, and widely acclaimed, local artist Suzanne Jemmerich.
