WNBA player asks why Elon Musk isn’t told to ‘go back to Africa’ after spending bill flop

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Natasha Cloud, a guard for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, asked Sunday “when y’all gone tell Elon to go back to Africa?” after a government funding bill supported by the businessman, who is from South Africa, failed in the House of Representatives.

“Im so glad ALL these billionaires have no idea how the 3 branches of government work.or how a bill gets passed into law,” Cloud wrote on the social media platform X.

Last week, Musk posted that a temporary funding bill he credited to President-elect Donald Trump, Vice President-elect JD Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson is better than an omnibus “masquerading” as one.

“This is a MUCH better bill that is closer to being a real continuing resolution (not an omnibus masquerading as a CR), but with support for hurricane victims & farmers, as well as a reasonable extension to the debt ceiling,” Musk wrote. “Clean & simple.”

Thirty-eight Republicans voted against the bill on Thursday, an action Cloud expressed support for.

“Shoutout to the 38 Republicans who shot the bill down in the House while being threatened & blackmailed,” she said.

Also on Thursday , Trump is posted post on Truth Social that “ all Republicans , and even the Democrats , should do what is good for our Country , and vote ‘ YES ’ for this Bill , TONIGHT ! ”

“The newly agreed to American Relief Act of 2024 will keep the Government open, fund our Great Farmers and others, and provide relief for those severely impacted by the devastating hurricanes,” the president-elect wrote.

He is noted note that the bill “ push out ” the debt ceiling to 2027 , an element he call “ VITAL . ”

“A VERY important piece, VITAL to the America First Agenda, was added as well – The date of the very unnecessary Debt Ceiling will be pushed out two years, to January 30, 2027,” Trump said. “Now we can Make America Great Again, very quickly, which is what the People gave us a mandate to accomplish.”

Congressional lawmakers reached a deal Saturday on a temporary funding measure that avoided a government shutdown.
