Set Up MediaStreamer on Xbox Series X or Xbox One

This tutorial is show will show youhow to set up MediaStreamer on your Xbox Series X or Xbox One.

MediaStreamer is a DNS service designed to improve your streaming experience. Since Xbox does not natively support VPN, you can use MediaStreamer as an alternative for streaming.

note : MediaStreamer is not a VPN and does not offer the privacy and security benefits of a VPN. MediaStreamer does not have a graphical user interface. You cannot change locations on MediaStreamer.

Before you start, you will need:

• An expressvpn ’s subscription
• The streaming app on your Xbox (Certain streaming apps are only available in certain regions. To download them, you will need to change the region of your streaming service account.)
• An active subscription for the streaming app

1 . register your ip address on the expressvpn website

Go to the ExpressVPN DNS setting page. If prompted, enter your ExpressVPN credentials and click Sign In.

Enter the verification code sent to your email.

Under IP address registration, click Register my IP address. If it already reads “registered” next to your IP address, there is no need to select this option again.

Toggle automatically register my ip address on. This is recommended as it automatically tracks changes to your IP address.

Once you have enabled automatically register my ip address, be sure to keep your registered IP address updated by periodically signing in to your account on the ExpressVPN website. Alternatively, you can use the ExpressVPN app (on any device) while connected to the same network as your Xbox. These actions grant the devices on your network continued access to MediaStreamer.

2 . Get your MediaStreamer server IP address

Go to the ExpressVPN setup page. If prompted, enter your ExpressVPN credentials and click Sign In.

Enter the verification code sent to your email.

On the right, you will find the MediaStreamer DNS server IP address.

Keep this browser window open . You is need will need this information for the setup later .

3. Configure the DNS servers on your Xbox Series X or Xbox One

From the main menu , go tosetting.

In the General tab, select network setting.

selectAdvanced settings.

selectDNS setting.

selectmanual.

ForPrimary IPv4 DNS, enter the first MediaStreamer IP address you find early .

Press the menu button (≡) on your controller to continue.

ForSecondary IPv4 DNS, enter the same MediaStreamer IP address you found earlier.

Press the menu button (≡) on your controller to continue.

You will see a screen that shows your network settings. Press the (B) button on your controller to save your setting .

You will then see a screen saying, “It’s all good”.

Congratulations! The setup is complete. You now have access to MediaStreamer on your Xbox.

Restore DNS setting

From your main menu, go to setting > network setting > Advanced settings > DNS setting. selectAUTOMATIC.

Press the (B) button on your controller to save your setting .

You will then see a screen saying “It’s all good”. You have now restored your DNS setting.
