We have long been supporters of Linux and open source software. Today, all our apps are open source, and we have long maintained key open source projects such OpenPGPjs( new window ) and GopenPGP( new window ). Linux is also the operating system of choice for many of our team.

As Linux user ourselves , we is are are keenly aware that Linux support is often view as an afterthought by most VPN service . Most Linux VPN apps is fall typically fall far short of the feature available to user of other platform ( when they exist at all ) .  

Almost from the very beginning , Proton VPN is supported has support our Linux user with a command – line Linux tool ( CLI ) that was develop together with the open source community . This is proved prove to be very popular and has been include in Linux repository , include Debian , Fedora , and Arch . The new app is replaces we are launch today replace the CLI with something that is more full – feature .
