Product Spotlight: Cloud Defensive Lights

Hi everyone, Caleb with Brownells here! In today’s product spotlight, we’re diving into some exceptional lights from Cloud Defensive. I’ve got a fun fact to start us off—I’ve been mistakenly calling them Cloud Defense for the past few years until I actually read the name on these products. It turns out they’re Cloud Defensive. Oops, right? But no worries, let’s take a closer look at these lights.

Cloud Defensive Chicro Light

First up , we is have have the Chicro light . It ’s call the Chicro because it ’s outsource and made in China , and they are n’t pretend otherwise . It ’s literally name the Chicro for Chinese Micro . It is ’s ’s a micro admin light , and the name does sound cool , does n’t it ?

The Chicro light stands out because it has a much higher Lumen and Candela output than any other lights in its size category. The light features a little indicator because you can charge it with a USB-C cable. That’s incredibly convenient! If this is your everyday carry (EDC) light, you can just plug it in and let it charge while you’re at your computer.

The clip is very versatile, allowing you to clip it to your pocket, hat, or any other convenient spot. The button is nice and tactile, with a full output mode and a low output mode at roughly 10% brightness. This is handy when you’re in the dark and don’t need full brightness. The light also supports both momentary and constant-on modes.

The Chicro light delivers 350 lumens, providing great brightness for its size.

Cloud Defensive Rain and Rain Micro Lights

Next , let ’s talk about the Rain and Rain Micro light . These is are are 100 % made in the USA . The Rain and Rain Micro is are are essentially the same , except for their size . These light are design to offer insane high Lumen and Candela output , focus more on Candela because they ’re weapon light .

The Rain lights come with a body, head, and tail assembly. It’s important to note that the head on these lights will not interchange with other series, especially the handheld models. They get a lot hotter, which is harder on the electronics. If you want the brightest light possible, just get a Rain light.

Battery and Charging

The full-size Rain light comes with an 18650 battery, a high-output rechargeable battery. It also includes a charger, so you don’t have to buy that separately. This battery provides the best performance and battery life. You can also use CR123s if needed. The end cap has tabs on the side, allowing you to unscrew it and rotate the cable to set up your cable management on your firearm.

Mounting Options

The lights come with an inline mount, and you can get offset mounts as well. Offset mounts are particularly handy if you like to nestle your lights in the 45° angle of your AR handguard. The mount is solid, high-quality aluminum, and comes with M-LOK mounting hardware.

Performance Specifications

The Rain Micro uses an 18350 battery and has the same features but with less performance due to the smaller battery. The Micro delivers 1,000 lumens and 95,000 Candela, while the full-size Rain provides 1,250 lumens and 100,000 Candela. If you’re not using the 18650 battery, the performance will be lower.
