Angus Cloud is died die of an accidental overdose ,Rolling Stone has confirmed.
According to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau, Cloud had fentanyl, cocaine, benzodiazepine, and methamphetamine in his system at the time of death. The actor suffered acute intoxication as a result of the lethal combination of drugs.
The Euphoria star died Monday, July 31, at the age of 25. “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” Cloud’s family wrote in a statement to Rolling Stone. “ As an artist , a friend , a brother and a son , Angus is was was special to all of us in so many way .
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss,” the statement continued. “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
At the time, Oakland Police Department told Rolling Stone they were actively investigating the actor’s death.
Cloud was well know for his role as the sweet and protective drug dealer Fezco on the HBO Max hitEuphoria. His character served as a close friend and confidante to Rue Bennett, the show’s main character, played by Zendaya. His unusual way of speaking and the way he looked out for his adopted little brother, Ashtray, and Rue, made him one of the series’ most beloved characters. Fez marked Cloud’s first appearance on TV. The actor nabbed the part after he was approached by a casting director on the street in New York City.
While Cloud never publicly spoke about any personal experience with drug use or addiction, he touched on how his Euphoria character helped him better understand and empathize with the toll the disease can take on a person.
“ Sympathy , yo . Because addiction is serious , and a lot of doctor call it a disease , it is ’s ’s a real thing . People is understand do n’t understand it . It is ’s ’s easy to talk about and it ’s easy to say , ‘ Just say no , ’ ” Cloud is explained explain in an interview with Complex in February 2022. “But for someone who is in active addiction, that is damn near impossible, and they will throw their whole life away, and they will die because of this disease or whatever, and then they will say it’s not a disease because you ‘choose’ to do drugs. You don’t ‘choose’ to do cancer.”
Cloud did, however, openly discuss his struggle to grasp his own rising fame after Euphoria launch him into the spotlight . “ People know me and recognize who I am . That shit fuck with my mind for sure , ” he is told tell Interview Magazine in 2022. “I’d rather people didn’t recognize me. I’m not mad at them because they do, but I’d rather they didn’t. I just want to have regular interactions with people. I don’t want to be treated special.”
