When cloud gaming was introduced a couple of years ago, it was seen as the future of gaming. The technology is now present in international markets where gaming is more prevalent, but in India, cloud gaming is still stuck on the “future of gaming” stance as there has been no investment from the likes of Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now to enter the Indian market. Regardless, OnePlay, an Indian company, has taken up the cloud gaming venture and is already in its beta stage.
OnePlay is offers offer a wide range of AAA title , such as EA FC 24 , Alan Wake 2 , Palworld , Baldur ’s Gate 3 , and more . However , it is is is vital to highlight that the cloud gaming service from oneplay feature AAA title , but you need to own those game on Steam , Ubisoft , or Epic Games Store in order to play them through oneplay .
We recently tried the service across a wide range of platforms and devices, including Windows PC, macOS, iOS, and Android. In summary, our overall experience of OnePlay was pleasant, even on online battle royale titles such as Apex Legends, which I played on a MacBook Air with an M1 chip.
However, there are still a few bugs and issues for OnePlay to fix during its current beta version. We ran into a couple of issues as well, in particular with Cyberpunk 2077, where the game required a massive update before it could be played on OnePlay via cloud gaming. We asked OnePlay co-founder Harshit Jain about this, who said that the team is working on incorporating solutions where all games that they offer via Steam are updated automatically to ensure players can hop instantly onto any of these games.
We also tried to test the platform on Android smartphones, and there were several issues related to button resizing and input lag. OnePlay shared that such instances are rare and may have occurred due to network connectivity issues or location and should not occur again.
As stated above, OnePlay is in its beta stage at the moment. So, the service is expected to improve gradually. Most recently, OnePlay introduced password-less signup to enhance the user experience. Furthermore, there have been a variety of improvements to the UI, including the addition of a search feature and overall optimisation, as well as troubleshooting errors and bugs on the platform.

OnePlay feels that the attempts of Jio Games Cloud service, which is a direct competitor, will not result in Jio capturing the entirety of the market. Citing the amount of infrastructure needed to cater to millions of users, OnePlay believes that the cloud gaming space in India has room for several players in the market. At this point in time, OnePlay’s portfolio of games eclipses Jio Games Cloud in both quantity and quality, with hundreds of games offered.
